The world’s busiest shipping lane is on the brink of transformation. DFDS Ferries are working with industry partners Societe General, NatPower,, French International Register and the Port of Dover as well as the University of Kent to introduce a fully electric fleet of ferries on the Dover to Dunkerque and Calais routes
Gemma Griffin's presentation will consider the issues, opportunities and challenges that include;
- How the ports need to adapt to powering and supporting electric vessels,
- The readiness of the shipping and power generation industries to adapt and invest,
- Building energy infrastructure that is reliable, scalable and sustainable
- Implications for communities affected for job creation, green growth and cross border collaboration
