About this Event
Have you ever specified equipment such as diffusers, only to run into problems on site not knowing why? Or have you ever wondered what happens inside a fire/smoke damper when it shuts off? Somtimes it's not until you actually see and touch such equipment up-close to really understand how they work and get installed. Join CIBSE NZ's Young Engineer's Network (YEN) for an afternoon at Price Holyoake's Auckland facility for an immersive, hands-on technical session.
This event is designed to give emerging engineers a practical, real-world understanding of the technologies and components that drive modern HVAC systems—beyond drawings and specifications. The primary audience are HVAC engineers early in their careers, with the secondary audience being anyone else in the buildings industry interested such as fire engineers etc. This event is also free to attend even if you're not a CIBSE member.
The session will begin with an interactive discussion covering two core Price Holyoake product ranges:
- Grilles & Diffusers
- Fire & Smoke Dampers
The sales and engineering teams will explain how these products function, where they are used, and the key considerations that influence their design, performance, and compliance.
Attendees will then have the opportunity to explore physical product samples and examine the internal mechanisms up close—an ideal chance to connect theory with real equipment.
To conclude, participants will join a guided tour of our Auckland manufacturing facility, where you’ll see the machinery and fabrication processes that bring these products to life.

CIBSE Young Engineers Network (YEN)
CIBSE YEN provides a range of activities to inspire and support young engineers already in the industry and encourage interest from others outside the building services profession.
CIBSE has YEN chapters around Australia and New Zealand that organise technical and social events to support Young Professionals working within building services. They also engage with students at universities and other tertiary institutions to build awareness of the opportunities offered by a career in building services egnineering
