Kia Ora Everyone! Hold the date folks!! We are gathering. We are gathering our moving, dancing, social, sun-seeking, fun-seeking, Whānau together. Whatever configuration your family is, or isn't in you are welcome to join for Physical Play, Time in Nature, Dance, Games and More.
In January everyone leaves Auckland we are going to take over the rich wonderland that is Tāmaki Makaurau, with its fabulous halls, great beaches, large parks, amazing Maunga and expansive climbing trees.
And the best part is, the traffic will be at summer levels!!
This is a week to dance, move, swim, walk, play, and be with your family and others.
We are imagining days at Long Bay, with Football, Water Play, Contact Improv on the Grass, and Shared Lunch.
We are imagining workshops for adults, and then collective family swims.
We are imagining, performance nights and kids' concerts.
We are imagining, walks up various volcanic mountains in this wonderful city, and improvised descents.
We are imagining sharing some of our summer with our generous curious creative friends, who like to play and like to see their kids supported and part of a bigger group!
AND We are imagining that you might like to join us!! A week of improved play in Tāmaki!
It is at the conception stage at the minute, but if you have some skills you can share, for kids or adults or both, that are around improvised play, or you know of amazing hidden venues, or great beaches with a hall alongside, please be in touch so we can build an amazing program together.
Many of the organising committee's close friends have teenage kids at the moment, so we are also looking to set up a teen committee so that they can co-create things that they would love to do as well as part of this week.
This mahi, is borne out of a collective need for social whanau play over the summer school holidays. And for our love of improvised performance, dance, music and nature.
We will be guided by a Waxing Gibbous Moon, with the full moon on the 14th.
