This is a 1 mile race for youth ages 8-18 living in Churchill Downs. The race will be two laps around the inside perimeter of Wainwright Park, and will be divided into 4 race categories: girls ages 8-13, boys ages 8-13, girls ages 14-18, and boys ages 14-18. Every racer will get a Churchill Downs t-shirt and refreshments after the race, and there will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each race category. Additionally there will be a 1 mile community walk around the Churchill Downs walking path (starting from Wainwright park), a bounce house, and other festivities for those who come out to watch the race. So spread the word among your neighbors and plan to come out to cheer on our Churchill Downs youth!
The event is free, but we request that racers register ahead of time. This will help us make sure we have the right size t-shirts for them, and will make race day easier. You can register here:
