ChurchCon 2026 is an anime and anime-adjacent themed craft show taking place inside historic First Congregational Church near downtown Wyandotte. This all ages event will boast crafters and vendors with a passion for anime and anime adjacent goods as well as anime related panels and activities throughout the day, including a Cosplay contest and more. Admission to the event is FREE.
We will have raffles and simple concessions available for sale throughout the day, and all proceeds will benefit local charities including:
Ruth Ellis Center (services for homeless, run-away, and at-risk youth and young adults of color),
Blessed Hope (providing a food pantry, free community meals, and other services), and
Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center (provides free and low-cost legal services to individuals who face barriers to accessing affordable legal services due to factors such as income, language, education, nation of origin, or immigration status).
We are excited to be using the space within First Congregational Church, but we'd like to emphasize that this isn't a religious event. Some of the youth from our community wanted to seek ways to bring more anime events to our area. They thought "Churchcon" was a fun title because of the events' location. We aren't going to ask you to "Come to Jesus" - we're inviting you to come enjoy anime!
