About this Event
Our Church Security Workshop is a practical, mission-focused training designed for church leaders, safety team members, and volunteers who are responsible for protecting their congregation while maintaining a welcoming worship environment. This class provides proven tips and best practices for building and managing an effective church safety team, including team roles, communication, situational awareness, access control, and coordination with local first responders. Emphasis is placed on balancing preparedness with hospitality so security measures support—rather than disrupt—the church’s spiritual mission.
A special presentation will address Active Killer Events in Houses of Worship, examining real-world case studies, warning signs, and response considerations specific to church settings. Participants will learn how to recognize emerging threats, make rapid decisions during high-stress incidents, and respond in ways that reduce harm and save lives. The workshop equips attendees with practical knowledge, realistic expectations, and actionable steps to strengthen their church’s overall safety posture.
This workshop is being held at the Cross Point Baptist Church in Davenport, Iowa.
This workshop is from 9am-1pm. Snacks and water will be provided over breaks.
