CHROM wurde im Mai 2007 von Christian Marquis und Thomas Winters gegründet, nachdem diese nach langjähriger Bekanntschaft ihre gemeinsame Vorliebe für knallige, tanzbare aber gleichzeitig melodische Electro-Sounds entdeckt hatten. CHROM steht für eine effektive Synthese aus Synth Pop, EBM und Club-Electro, will heißen: satte
Beats, durchdringende Bässe, die gerne auch richtig druckvoll sein können, ganiert mit Ohrwurm-Melodien. Das Debütalbum "Electroscope" erschien im April 2010 auf Fear Section, im Vertrieb von Out Of Line Music. Im März 2012 veröffentlichte CHROM das zweites Album "Synthetic Movement" bei Out Of Line Music, auf dem der charakteristische Sound zwischen Club und elektronischem Pop weiter perfektioniert wurde. 2016 folgte dann das 3. Studioalbum "Peak & Decay", welches direkt in denn Offiziellen Deutschen Album Charts landete. 2022 verlies Thomas Winters die Band. Seit dem führt Frontmann Christian Marquis die Band alleine weiter und wird live von Alexander Suttmer am Keyboard unterstützt. Aktuell wird an einem neuen Album gearbeitet, welches für Ende 2025 angekündigt ist. Die beiden Singles "Paralysed" und "Agony" wurde 2024 veröffentlicht und geben einen Vorgeschmack auf das neue Album: Kraftvoller und emotionaler denn je! Frisch und doch vertraut! CHROM is back!!!

CHROM was founded in May 2007 by Christian Marquis and Thomas Winters, who, after a long-standing acquaintance, discovered their shared love for bright, danceable, yet melodic electronic sounds. CHROM stands for an effective synthesis of synth pop, EBM, and club electro, meaning: rich beats, penetrating bass lines that can sometimes be quite powerful, garnished with catchy melodies. The debut album, "Electroscope," was released in April 2010 on Fear Section, distributed by Out Of Line Music. In March 2012, CHROM released their second album, "Synthetic Movement," on Out Of Line Music, which further perfected their signature sound between club and electronic pop. Their third studio album, "Peak & Decay," followed in 2016 and entered the Official German Album Charts. Thomas Winters left the band in 2022. Since then, frontman Christian Marquis has continued to lead the band solo, supported live by Alexander Suttmer on keyboards. They are currently working on a new album, scheduled for release in late 2025. The two singles "Paralysed" and "Agony" were released in 2024 and offer a taste of the new album: more powerful and emotional than ever! Fresh yet familiar! CHROM is back!!!
