About this Event
Can you picture the perfect Christmas scene without a candle or two? We thought not!
Join our Innovator in Residence, David Ricketts, as he delves into the fascinating chemistry of the humble candle.
Inspired by one of the most iconic lectures given at the Royal Institution by Michael Faraday, David will attempt to recreate some of the experiments based on Faraday’s own handwritten notes.
This event will be filled to the brim with live, interactive demonstrations from 200 years of Ri history, as well as more modern takes on them. David will leave you surprised, inspired, and wanting more!
This event is particularly suitable for ages 10+. As with all our family theatre talks, this event is designed to be enjoyed by adults and children together. All young people under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by a paying adult and those aged 4 and above need a ticket to attend.
By booking to attend events at the Royal Institution, you confirm that you have read and accept the Ri's . You also agree to abide by our , and help to create a great experience for yourself and your fellow participants.
