We are very excited to offer you this special new 3 hour workshop for Christmas at The Bertinet Kitchen. We are collaborating with the wonderful Pott Candles for a festive morning of making and baking to coincide with the launch of their Limited edition Christmas Pudding Candle. The Kitchen will be full of joyous Christmas smells, Christmas Pudding candles from Pott and mince pies from Richard Bertinet.
The day will start with your arrival at 10am for coffee, tea and Bertinet toast. There will then be an introduction from Richard Bertinet and Pott Candles founder Ailis Topley who will be guiding you through your candle making. You will be pouring your very own limited edition Christmas Pudding Candle that will be left to set for you to take away with you at the end of the workshop.
While your candle is setting, you will move onto the mince pie part of the workshop. We will show you the secret of making perfect sweet pastry which you will be working, learning how to rest and rolling before lining your mince pie trays. You will fill your pies with our delicious homemade mincemeat, pipe in some crème d’amande and top with flaked almonds before baking. Of course there will be a Bertinet twist to your mince pies, which might involve some rum! There will be plenty of mince pies to sample during the class.
As the mince pies are baking we will serve you a glass of our Christmas gin cocktail, made with our own Richard Bertinet gin and some canapés.
You will leave us at 1pm with your gorgeous candle, a box of a dozen mince pies and recipe sheets. You will have a chance to shop from a range of Pott candles and of course in the Bertinet Kitchen shop.
This is a great workshop to come to on your own or with a group of friends and you will leave us with the skills of candle making and perfecting the perfect mince pie.
The workshop starts at 10am and will finish at 1pm.
