Fareham Borough Council will be welcoming visitors to its glittering annual Christmas Lights Switch On event on Saturday 23 November 2024.Taking place on the pedestrianised area of West Street from 10am-7pm, there will be a Christmas market, free children's activities including Christingle making, circus skills and arts and crafts, fun fair rides and stalls, food and drink, street and stage performers and more.
This family favourite usually attracts thousands of visitors. Last year, many of the planned activities and attractions had to be cancelled due to very bad weather. This year the Council will not let the weather spoil the fun, so the Christmas market will be moving under cover into Fareham Shopping Centre. Not only that, you'll be able to visit it over the whole weekend, as it's running from 10am to 4pmon the Sunday too! This market is brought to you by Funyard Events and if you are interested in being a stallholder, please visit their website for more information - www.funyardevents.com.
The countdown to the festive lights switch on will be at 5:30pm under the town centre band stand and the Deputy Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Louise Clubley, and her Deputy Mayor's Consort, Jonathan Clubley, will do the honours this year.
The community stage is sponsored by Rebellion Marketing with performances throughout the day. Further sponsorship options are available and to find out more visit: www.fareham.gov.uk/sponsorship.
