Christmas in the Adobes

Return to the days of Alta California during Monterey’s premier holiday event, Christmas in the Adobes. Co-sponsored by Monterey State Historic Park Association (MSHPA) and California State Parks, this early evening walking tour of Monterey’s historic adobes adorned in holiday décor surprises and delights visitors with welcoming, candle-lit luminarias leading the way to each building’s entrance. Enjoy festive music and a variety of entertainment as you explore over twenty magical, historic adobes on the tour. Hear the stories of Monterey’s earliest buildings and savor the warm spirit of the community of this annual event that has become a family favorite during the holidays.

This charitable annual fundraiser for Monterey State Historic Park raises funds for the State Park’s educational history programs for elementary students, as well as for the restoration of the historic First Theatre. The State Parks buildings are joined by over a dozen community partner buildings – some of which are only open to the public during this event.

Adult (18 yrs+), Single Night Ticket: $30 ($25 before November 1)

Adult (18 yrs+), Two-Night Gold Pass: $45

Children under 18 are free

❗IMPORTANT TICKETING INFO❗:

Online ticket purchasers are required to check in at one of the three designated will-call locations on the night of the event(s) to collect their wristband and Christmas in the Adobes map. Please note that print-at-home Eventbrite tickets will not be accepted at individual buildings.

The event will proceed rain or shine, so please plan accordingly. Please note that refunds will not be issued for any reason.

Will-Call Locations: Open starting at 4:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Will the event be canceled if it rains?

This event will take place rain or shine, even in the case of a power outage. As our only annual fundraiser, the success of this event is essential to supporting the educational programs and restoration work we carry out each year on the historic buildings. For this reason, no refunds will be given under any circumstances.

Can I bring my dog?

Only service animals are allowed in the buildings.

What's the refund policy?
We do not issue refunds. The eventwill be held rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather or a power outage, some historic buildings may be closed, but the event itself will still take place. Because this is our only annual fundraiser supporting educational programs and preservation work, refunds will not be issued under any circumstances.

I purchased tickets but I want to change the date, i.e. I bought a ticket for Friday but I want to go on Saturday now instead, can I change my ticket?

Yes, tickets can be changed for the same type of ticket for a different night, please email us at [email protected] to request the change.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, but ticket holders who purchased their tickets online with Eventbrite MUST come to one of the three Will Call locations on the night of the event(s) to check in and receive their wristband and Christmas in the Adobes Map. Print-at-home Eventbrite tickets will NOT be honored at individual buildings.
