Join us for Christmas at The Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from the 4th to 20th December 2025. Arrival drinks at 6:30pm with dinner at 7:30pm and carriages at 12:30am. Tables of 8 or 10 available. Book through [email protected].
Tickets are £72.50 per person, which includes an arrival drink, 3 course dinner, tea/coffee, a DJ, disco and more!
The Christmas menu consists of:
Starters
Classic Prawn Cocktail - juicy Atlantic prawns served in a zesty Marie Rose sauce, accompanied by crisp salad greens and crunchy Melba toast
Goat’s Cheese & Red Onion Tart (VG) - a buttery pastry filled with creamy goat’s cheese and caramelized red onion, served with a lightly dressed mixed leaf salad.
Mains
Traditional Roast Turkey - succulent Roasted Turkey with all the trimmings: golden pigs in blankets, crispy roast potatoes, and sweet braised red cabbage, accompanied by a rich sage and onion stuffing and a generous serving of gravy.
Homemade Vegetarian Meat Loaf (VG) - tender, flavourful vegetarian meatloaf, paired with sweet and tangy braised red cabbage and a side of creamy mashed potatoes or roasted root vegetables.
Seasonal Family-Style Vegetables - a vibrant medley of seasonal vegetables served to share, including honey-glazed carrots, buttered Brussels sprouts, and garden peas.
Desserts
Traditional Christmas Pudding - a rich, fruity Christmas pudding served warm with a silky brandy sauce for a truly festive finish.
Profiteroles with Orange Cream - light choux pastry filled with a luscious orange-infused cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce.

Coffee & Chocolate Mint - freshly brewed coffee or tea, accompanied by indulgent chocolate mints to round off the perfect Christmas meal
