McVie wrote many of Fleetwood Mac's most enduring and popular songs, including "Don't Stop," "Everywhere," "You Make Loving Fun," and her signature track, "Songbird". Her warm, soulful voice was central to the band's sound.
For many, she was the heart and soul of the band, a grounding presence amid the group's personal dramas, especially during the recording of the iconic album Rumours.
