About this Event
Join Us for Christians Challenging Islamophobia!
Hosted by Challenging Islamophobia Together Chicagoland and the Illinois Conference of Churches
How can Christians respond faithfully and courageously to the rise of anti-Muslim prejudice? Join clergy and lay leaders from across Illinois for a day of reflection, learning, and action at the Christians Challenging Islamophobia Conference.
This gathering will feature a “Faith Over Fear” training led by Shoulder to Shoulder, a national coalition equipping faith communities to stand with their Muslim neighbors. Participants will also engage a hands-on workshop led by Rev. Dr. Anna Piela and Rev. Dr. Michael Woolf, co-founders of Challenging Islamophobia Together Chicagoland and co-authors of Confronting Islamophobia in the Church: Liturgical Tools for Justice (Judson Press, 2026).
Together, we’ll explore how congregations can root out fear-based narratives, build authentic interfaith partnerships, and embody the Gospel’s call to love our neighbors without exception.
Lunch will be provided.
This event is open to clergy and active laypeople of all denominations who want to move from awareness to faithful action.
