About this Event
We are pleased to be bringing Dr. Daniel Bannoura, a Palestinian theologian and podcaster, to Grand Haven for this special event where you can learn more about the situation in Gaza and also help to raise funds for humanitarian relief. Now that the Gaza genocide is "officially over" (or at least seems to be), the Western church faces a profound moral crossroads, starkly divided between calls for justice and a legacy of Christian Zionism that has enabled and justified unspeakable violence. This talk confronts this complicity, exploring how our faith has been coopted in service of the empire. Join us for a critical conversation on the future of the church and its witness in a world crying out for justice. The evening includes a catered dinner and a time of question and answer with our presenter. All funds raised in excess of event costs will go to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) , an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides support for the humanitarian work of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees.
