About this Event

It is the end of the summer, but it isn't quite yet over. And do you know what? YOUR FAVOURITE HIKE VOTED LAST YEAR BY THE JONIONS IS BACK! So come and join me on this fabulous day trip to the Southern Coast of England and visit some stunning places full of colours, with a coastline that is simply stunning and an old town out of history books that will remind you of Bruges in places...

Dorset has got a lot more than the Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove or the Old Harry's, yuup, there is a jewel hidden not too far from Bournemouth and the other touristy sites.
Christchurch has got everything and believe me, you will want to bring your camera. Between the sceneries mentioned above and the New Forest National Park, it can only be the most varied place in Southern England!

There is nothing in a hike that I find more boring than sea, sea, sea, or woods, woods, woods, or fields, fields and guess...fields! I like varied hikes and if you do like varied hikes too, this is the one you want to join!

We will begin with St Catherine hill, through a coniferous woodland that resemble the ones of the South of France, the climb isn't steep so don't worry too much, just a little long.
From there we will admire the heath as it will be at its peak with its purple carpet of heather before we walk down and head to the town via the heath. We will have a peak at some of the famous monuments. If you Can’t decide between seaside or countryside, historic town or pretty harbour, Christchurch offers the perfect solution with award-winning beaches, coastal nature reserves and heritage attractions.
Two delightful rivers to walk along, two historic Quays to discover and two Castles to explore - it's twice the fun in Christchurch!

The historic Priory Church and the ruins of the castle help give an old world charm to the attractive, bustling town centre. It reminds me of a mini Bruges in the UK.
We will then finish our trip on the coast where you will be able to swim in a stunning estuary with great views of the Isle of Wight. Probably one of the last swims of the year!

And finally, for those who wish, we will grab a bite in town or a drink or you can simply hop on the train back before us food, drinks and chat addicts and dream of the lovely summer day you have just spent with the weirdest people you know; Mama Jon and his Jonions.
