Christ vs. WarholFormed in Los Angeles in 2008, Christ vs. Warhol was born out of personal unrest and political disillusionment. Emerging from the DIY underground, the band forged its identity through a collision of post-punk edge, gothic atmosphere, and radical politics. Their sound is a dark, driving force—part protest, part elegy—giving voice to the anger and grief of a world in perpetual crisis.
Taking their name as a critique of cultural commodification and the tension between the sacred and the synthetic, Christ vs. Warhol confronts themes of alienation, resistance, and historical trauma. Their debut album, "Dissent", marked a bold entrance: a raw, urgent soundtrack for political awakening. This was followed by "We, the Victims of History", a brooding and expansive record that delves deeper into memory, identity, and the cost of silence.
Over more than a decade Christ vs. Warhol has remained fiercely independent and unapologetically confrontational—committed to making music that doesn’t just reflect the times, but fights back against them.
Batboner
With their own take on deathrock aesthetics mixed with psychedelic colors and
playfulness, Batboner gives you something different in a genre that is in itself «something different». The music is centered around deathrock, dark punk, gothic rock and postpunk, but takes inspiration from a multitude of genres such as progressive rock, psytrance, black metal and surf. Not everything is apparent in the music but reveals itself in the maximalism, catchyness and overall creative philosophy. Everything that can fit may be used and abused.
Lead composer and guitarist Yod Amygdala aims the music towards both your heart and
mind, while lyricist and vocalist Effie Gloomworks nurtures your soul with haunting and strange fragments of dreams, memories and personal situations. Batboner is completed with Fr. IAD on bass and Snorre on drums. Fr. IAD makes sure Yod Amygdala’s aim for your heart is accurately pinpointed, with soothing, yet punchy basslines. And Snorre uses his punk super powers to hold it all together right in front of you. Every part of the above is thrown into a cathartic melting-pot. Come find the spark in the dark with Batboner. Come dance your sorrows away.
