Chris Gestrin-piano, Jon Bentley-tenor sax, Jodi Proznick-bass, Joe Poole-drums.Keith Jarrett's European Quartet was a jazz group featuring pianist Keith Jarrett, saxophonist Jan Garbarek, bassist Palle Danielsson, and drummer Jon Christensen, active in the mid-to-late 1970s. Their distinctive sound, a blend of lyrical melody and free improvisation, became synonymous with the aesthetic of the German record label, ECM. It was and continues to be hugely influential to the sound of jazz and creative music. Chris has put together a quartet featuring some of his great friends and musicians from Vancouver to pay tribute to some of Jarrett's unique and beautiful compositions from this time frame.
