Chope a Zine!

Using recycled Lion City menu prints, you’ll cut, fold, draw, write and collage your own mini-zine. Your zine can explore food memories, hawker culture, authenticity, Singaporean cuisine, or your own personal culinary background. The event is based on Chope a Seat, a series of interviews with different Singaporean culinary voices about food, community, authenticity and creating space for Singaporean cuisine abroad.

You don’t need to be an artist, writer or food expert. Everyone is welcome: just bring your appetite, curiosity and imagination! We’ll provide foundational materials, but bring along any favourite tools, scraps, stickers or pens if you’d like to give your zine an extra personal flavour.

During the event, a special discounted snack set will be available: 1 Bite + 1 non-alcoholic drink (€10). All zine-making materials and tools will be provided. The zines created during the event may be included in a larger compiled zine, which will later be exhibited at the restaurant and shared on Lion City’s social media.

Entry is free. Reserve via lioncity.nl and add the note “Chope a Zine” to your booking OR reserve through Eventbrite and we will contact you with more details.

This is a casual event! You may come and leave anytime during 13:00 - 16:00.
