St George's Church, Cullercoats
This workshop and concert present a unique opportunity for choirs and communities to come together to share in song, to learn new tunes and create something bigger than each individual choir. It’s a chance for choirs to get to know each other, to create links with each other and to build community connections. Individual participants will have opportunities to take on solo parts, and the whole day will be greater than the sum of its parts.
What will you be singing?
A love letter to the Northumberland Coast, this piece takes a journey along a familiar coastline with songs new and old. Featuring local favourites like Waters Of Tyne and Here’s the Tender Coming, along with less familiar songs like The Cliffs of Old Tynemouth and I drew my ship into the harbour, all woven together with a rich tapestry of harmonies and rounds to create something entirely new – this piece will transport you along the familiar shores of the North Sea.
