It might be too warm for a beard and a plaid shirt, but you can find your inner lumberjack exploring the 1890 Paul Bunyan Logging Camp. Checking out the cook shanty and bunkhouse, you can almost smell pancakes, prunes, wet woolen socks, tobacco, and sawdust. Learn more about the life of a horse in the camp at the barn and the blacksmith shop. Don’t miss the Tall Tales Room where kids ages 1-101 can have fun while learning. Ask about the scavenger hunt created just for the opening.Change hats as you enter the Sunnyview School and Anderson Log House to understand more about the lives of early residents in the Chippewa Valley. While life was very different then, we shared many of the same interests and experiences.
Before you tour of the main museum building, take a break and enjoy a cone or sundae in the Ice Cream Parlor. If you’re feeling nostalgic, take some retro candy home with you or be daring and buy a box of crickets
