The "Happy Chinese New Year" celebration was first organized in Finland in 2007 as a collaboration between the cities of Helsinki and Beijing. Over the past 18 years, it has grown into Finland's largest and most influential celebration of Chinese culture, arts, and cuisine, held annually.Previous events have been diverse and vibrant, showcasing dragon and lion dances, ice sculptures, food markets, cultural performances, light shows, and fireworks, blending Chinese traditions with modern creativity. The celebration has consistently attracted large audiences, including Finnish locals, Chinese immigrants, and international tourists.
The 2025 event is officially named the 2025 “Happy Chinese New Year in Finland”Folk Fair and Asian Cultural Festival.
This event is organized by Finland's largest local Chinese community—the Chinese Finnish Friendship Association (CFFA) in collaboration with various other Chinese communities and is endorsed by the embassies of China and Malaysia in Finland.
