About the Course
You shall develop an appreciation of Chinese culture and art. Come experience this traditional and unique expression of creativity through the various techniques of applying Chinese ink and colours on rice paper.
The course covers free style techniques of Chinese painting.
You will learn various traditional and modern subjects such as flowers, birds, marine, plants, scenery, mountain, rocks, still life subjects, etc. The drawings shown here are only for illustration purpose.
The artwork featured in this listing are examples of Chinese Brush Painting by the trainer. They are not indicative of the actual course work which may vary based on participants personal capabilities.

Bring Your Own Materials:
- Plastic sheet for desk.
- Cloth/Newspaper as backing for rice paper, Water Pot, Rag for brush cleaning.
- Shawl/Sweater as you may feel cold.

COURSE FEE:

$56 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy
National Silver Academy
- NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.
SkillsFuture Credit
- In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
- All tickets purchased with the intent to use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the course fee will be subject to a non-refundable $20 administrative fee.
EFFECTIVE 1ST JUNE 2025, ALL TICKETS PURCHASED WITH INTENT TO USE SKILLSFUTURE CREDIT WILL HAVE A NON-REFUNDABLE, $20 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE IMPOSED.
HOW? Do I begin the process of using my SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) to pay for course fees:
Step 1 (on Skillsfuture Website): Check your SkillsFuture credit balance.
Log into your SkillsFuture Portal to confirm you have sufficient SkillsFuture Credit balance (Take note: $4K SkillsFuture Career Transition Credits CANNOT be used for Brahm Centre courses).

Step 2 (on Eventbrite Website): Securing your ticket.
On Eventbrite, search for the course you are interested in.

Step 3 (on Eventbrite Website): Select correct ticket type & complete registration.
Select the intended Ticket Type (either NSA+SkillsFuture or Individual+SkillsFuture) and complete your registration. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about the course.
Save/Screenshot the confirmation. (you will use this in the following steps)
Step 4 (on Skillsfuture Website): Submit your SkillsFuture claim.
Go back to the SkillsFuture Portal to submit a claim under 'E-Services'.

Please submit your SkillsFuture credit claim 60 days BEFORE the course commencement, for it to be valid. Deadline to submit SFC Claim is one week prior to course commencement.
Step 5 (on Skillsfuture Website):
If your SFC submission was completed successfully, the status of your submission would reflect as "PENDING".
Your registration is confirmed after your SkillsFuture claim status reflect as "APPROVED".
*Should you choose to cancel your SFC claim before the start date, Brahm Centre reserves the right to impose a penalty fee for course withdrawal.
Notes:
- There are NO make-ups if you miss any of the art sessions.
- Missing a session does not disqualify you from taking part in the course - the trainer is not obligated to recap what was missed.
- Brahm Centre reserves the right to replan the course should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.

Trainer Bio:
Zhou Manlin has been engaged in architectural design, interior design and urban planning for 8 years, and has 6 years of experience working in local design firms. After having children, she focused on children's education and joined the field of education, using her original architect's professional painting skills. She moved to Singapore to study under the President of the Rehabilitation Art Research Association, Professor Tan Chin Chee, who inspired her to become a member of the Association and actively participate in charitable painting and calligraphy exhibitions.
She has been teaching painting, calligraphy and design to primary and secondary schools in Singapore for eight years, and her professionalism is highly appreciated and recognised by the teachers of the schools she teaches. She has also coached students to win many awards in SYF ART and calligraphy competitions.
