Synopsis
Lucía, Claudia and Xiang are three girls of Chinese descent who live in Madrid. Lucía is 9 years old, and her dream is to celebrate her birthday at a Burger King; her parents, non-Spanish-speaking Chinese immigrants who work 14-plus hours in their store to provide a future for their daughters, believe that this is a Spanish thing. On the other hand, Claudia, Lucía’s teenage sister, starts to experience cultural differences and racism among her peers. Finally, 9-year-old Xiang, who is adopted, starts to ask questions about her biological family. These three stories intersect and move apart, but the central objective remains the same: the search for one’s identity.
