We warmly invite you to join us for an engaging public panel discussion on contemporary China and its role in an increasingly interconnected and complex world.
China's economic rise, technological development, environmental policies, and growing international influence continue to shape global debates. Yet perceptions of China often differ significantly across cultures and political systems. This panel brings together distinguished scholars, authors, and practitioners to explore these questions from diverse perspectives.
Special: Before the panel, there will be a short keynote on the history of the traditional Chinese Opera by Bella Volen. It will also show the importance of this artform and its impact on society, cultural development, and politics.
Panel Experts
Dr. Ksenia Radchenkova
China scholar, lecturer, and recipient of the Dissertation Award of the Confucius Institute Graz. Having lived, studied, and taught in China, her work focuses on Chinese politics, society, and international relations.
Helena Chang
Lecturer, columnist, and expert on intercultural exchange. Helena Chang has extensive experience fostering dialogue and understanding between Eastern and Western cultures.
Xiangyu Wu
Author and former lecturer at FH Campus Wien. His research and publications focus on China, its development, and its engagement with the wider world.
Dr. Harvey Dzodin
Former ABC executive, presidential appointee under President Jimmy Carter, media strategist, and author of Dreaming Dragons or Meddlesome Mandarins. Dr. Dzodin has spent decades analyzing China–West relations and international affairs.

Organization
This event is organized by Salon Artemira, an Austrian association and interdisciplinary forum dedicated to peace studies, art, culture, and science. The organization was founded by political scientist, author, and peace researcher Josef Mühlbauer and professional painter, interdisciplinary artist, and gallery owner Bella Volen. Salon Artemira's events, exhibitions, lectures, and discussions are hosted at the Bella Volen Gallery in downtown Vienna.
