Chills & Fever is a vinyl-only club night rooted in the energy of the mod and soul underground. Expect an all-killer, high-tempo mix of mod, Northern Soul, R’n’B, Latin, British Beat, Mod, Jazz, and Ska, played loud, fast and with purpose.
Every record is spun on original vinyl, delivering the raw, authentic sound these scenes were built on. The dancefloor is the focus: sweat-on-the-walls grooves, deep cuts alongside floor-fillers, and a crowd that comes to move. This is a night for people who love their music upfront, analogue, and played by DJs who know how to build a room.
Alongside residents Sean Chapman and Andy Hill, each Chills & Fever welcomes a carefully chosen guest DJ to add a fresh edge while staying true to the night’s distinctive sound and spirit.
If you’re into sharp dressing, serious records and a euphoric, soul-charged atmosphere, this is your night.
Dress code: We love it when the room looks as good as it sounds, so smart dress is encouraged. Mod-influenced style is welcome – suits, vintage flair and retro details – but most of all, come ready to dance.
ABOUT CHILLS & FEVER
Chills & Fever was founded in 2017 as a bi-annual Saturday club night at the Hertford Corn Exchange, built on a shared love of mod and soul culture that Sean and Andy have been immersed in since their teens. Both are long-standing selectors on the scene, DJing regularly across the UK.
When lockdown halted dancefloors, Chills & Fever adapted, launching the popular Chills & Fever Live weekly broadcasts on Mixcloud, keeping the music – and the community – alive. Post-lockdown, the night returned in style with a Thames river cruise special, Pushing the Boat Out, followed by intimate Sunday Sessions in a 15th-century cellar bar in Ware.
Beyond their own events, Sean and Andy have taken Chills & Fever on the road, appearing at venues and festivals nationwide, including Brighton Mod Weekender at the Komedia and major soul weekenders in Blackpool.
Now, with Andy and Carole relocated north (a homecoming for Hull-born Carole), Chills & Fever is proudly relaunching as a twice-yearly fixture at Social, a venue that instantly felt like the natural home for their sound.
Same ethos. Same ‘Lets be ‘Aving You!’ dancefloor energy.
