About this Event

About this Programme

"Daily, our eating turns nature into culture," the journalist Michael Pollen writes. How does this look like in Singapore, where a rich food culture seems to be at the heart of Singapore's identity and our unifying cultural thread?

Based on the titular essay of the local anthology, Eating Chilli Crab in the Anthropocene, this panel explores our relationships and stories with food in the midst of the climate crisis and discusses the possibilities for sustainable food production - specifically in regard to mud crab farming.

Let chilli crab tell the story of seafood sustainability through the lens of food culture, as we discuss #eatingchillicrabintheanthropocene.

This programme is targetted at a general audience, including teens and those aged 50 and above.

Please note:

Please note that presentation slides may be available during or after the programme, depending on the programme. Where applicable, only participants who attend the programme can have access to the slides via instructions given during the programme.
