About this Event
This two day symposium, Children's Right to a Good Life in Aotearoa, focuses on supporting the health and wellbeing of all tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānau. It brings together leading voices from across the fields of health, education, social services, and community advocacy to share insights and strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of life for children and youth in New Zealand. By centring on practical approaches rather than academic abstracts, this event emphasizes actionable solutions to the pressing challenges faced by young people today. Presentations will explore themes such as equity in healthcare, mental health support, indigenous perspectives on wellbeing, children’s rights, children’s stories, and the role of family and community in fostering positive outcomes.
Our collective goal is to advance the conversation around how we can better ensure that all tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa grow up with the resources, care, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through the sharing of experiences and strategies, we aim to foster collaboration that can lead to tangible improvements in the systems and support structures that influence children's lives across the country.
