Give your child a creative Winter break! Our Children's Winter Art Camp is a three-day art adventure for kids ages 6-12, focused on imaginative holiday projects.* Monday, December 29: Northern Lights Canvas Painting: Paint a winter night scene on canvas. Artists will learn color blending techniques to create swirling Northern Lights over a pine forest. Finish your masterpiece by adding a majestic nocturnal animal (owl, deer, etc.) to the landscape.
* Tuesday, December 30: Winter Animal Sculptures (Model Magic): Dive into 3D art! Using Model Magic clay, kids will learn basic sculpting skills to create an adorable winter animal of their choice: a polar bear, penguin, or Arctic fox. Your artist will take home a finished sculpture that is ready to display!
* Wednesday, December 31: Gelli Print Collage Shadowboxes: Experiment with Gelli plate printmaking to create unique, colorful papers. We’ll then use our custom prints to design a Collage Shadowbox—a mixed-media, layered scene created inside a shadowbox. Combine your prints with markers and paper cut-outs to bring your own imaginative winter tale to life in 3D!
Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and a healthy snack (optional), comfortable clothes that can get messy, and a big imagination! Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up soon and let the fun begin!
All class materials are included with the ticket purchase. Parents are welcome to drop off their child or stay during the class in the Arts Center in the Vari Studio Workspace.
Please purchase 1 ticket per child. No experience is necessary. Classes are available to children ages 6 to 12.
* NOTE: A parent or guardian must be present to sign their child in and out for each class.
