Celebrate the grand reopening of the Library’s beloved Children’s Garden— an initiative of the NRPL Foundation -- now blooming with a brand-new outdoor pavilion. The New Rochelle Public Library (NRPL) will celebrate the grand opening of its Children’s Garden with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and family festival on Saturday, October 18, at 1:30 pm at the Main Branch, 1 Library Plaza.
The renovated garden will feature a new outdoor pavilion, expanding space for children’s programs and community gatherings. The project was made possible through the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation, which secured an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant from the City of New Rochelle.
The celebration will begin with a ribbon cutting and performance by Songcatchers, followed by pumpkin decorating, face painting, a Halloween Dreams & Screams concert with Rock Your World Kids, and photo ops with Esteban the Magnificent from The Day the Crayons Came Home. Guests are encouraged to come in costume.
“Children’s imaginations bloom when they have spaces to create, play, and connect,” said Eugenia Schatoff, Executive Director of the New Rochelle Public Library. “This new pavilion opens the door to even more outdoor programming for families across our community.”
All activities are free and open to the public. Registration is requested at bit.ly/NRPL_Spooktacular2025. This event is part of ArtsFest 2025, sponsored by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts.
