About this Event
Snap Downtown!
Begin and end your creative journey at Town House Kitchen & Drinks, the hub for this hands-on photography experience. Join artist and educator Professor Emeritus Jim Frank and Anne Gold, Executive Director of the New Rochelle Downtown BID, for a guided walking tour along Main Street paired with a mobile photography workshop.
The afternoon kicks off at Town House, where participants will gather before setting out to explore downtown’s architecture, culture, and hidden details through the lens of their phones. With tips from Professor Frank, you’ll learn easy techniques for framing, lighting, and capturing fresh perspectives while discovering stories of New Rochelle’s Main Street.
The group will return to Town House for a relaxed editing session, where Jim will share quick mobile editing methods. Each participant will then select a favorite photo, which will be printed as a postcard and featured in a special community pop-up gallery at Town House the following month.
This event is best suited for adults and teens (ages 14+), but all are welcome. Whether you’re passionate about photography, curious about history, or simply want to see downtown in a new light, Snap Downtown! offers a fun way to connect, create, and celebrate community.
