Join us for a vibrant celebration of art and creativity at the annual VBMA Children’s Art Festival! This family-friendly event offers a plethora of engaging activities live performances and artistic experiences for all ages. No pre-registration required just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!
Activities:
- Exhibition Tours: Explore the museum's current exhibitions with knowledgeable docents leading the way.
- Art Hunts: Embark on an artistic scavenger hunt throughout the museum.
- Art-Making Activities: Get hands-on in the Museum Art School studios with various art-making projects.
- Live Performances: Enjoy music and dance performances by talented local groups.
Special Art-Making Opportunities:
Awaken your inner artist with special art-making sessions inspired by the Ancient Egypt & the Napoleonic Era exhibit. Led by VBMA instructors and local art teachers these activities include:
- Easy Easel Painting: Create your masterpiece using acrylics and easels with instructor Vicki Marsango.
- Symmetrical Scarab Studio: Craft colorful interpretations of scarabs with instructor Karla Nester.
- Pyramid Palooza: Build 3-D pyramids and decorate them with stickers and gems with instructor Camy de Mario.
- Golden Glyphs: Etch your name or designs onto papyrus to create a hanging cartouche adorned with gold foil with instructor Pearl Lau.
- Sands of Creativity: Craft a torn paper landscape of the Egyptian desert with instructor Sophie Strazinsky.
