Led by the talented Vanessa (MA, CE, PDD Ceramics), an exhibiting artist at Liberation Art Gallery, this hands-on experience promises an unforgettable adventure in pottery.
Experience the creative heart of Brighton by joining us at Liberation Art Gallery, nestled in the historic and beautifully winding Lanes. Surrounded by centuries-old architecture and vibrant local culture, this workshop invites you to slow down, explore, and truly take in the charm of the area. Inside the gallery, you’ll be immersed in inspiring artworks, a welcoming atmosphere, and the joy of creating amongst fellow art lovers. It’s not just a workshop—it's a moment of connection, creativity, and appreciation for Brighton’s artistic soul.
The Children will delve into the art of throwing on the pottery wheel, guided step-by-step in creating their very own unique pots to take home with them. For those who prefer a different approach, the option to craft a delightful handmade pinch bowl is also available. In our dedicated sculpting area, budding artists can explore the world of model making using an array of tools, under Vanessa's expert instruction.
Children of all ages are welcomed. All materials are provided and we've got snacks and refreshments covered – just remember to bring along an old t-shirt for a mess-free experience! Included in this experience is a kiln firing, onsite, so you can either collect your pottery at a later date or book in for a paint and glaze session (and 2nd firing) with us to bring your creations to life. Pricing is for one ticket. If you'd like to create your own pottery piece as an accompanying adult please book 2 tickets.

At Liberation Art Gallery CIC, we aim to create an inclusive and relaxing environment for all our workshop participants. You are welcome to bring your own soft drinks and snacks to enjoy during your session, making your experience even more comfortable and sociable. Our gallery also provides toilet and handwashing facilities, ensuring convenience and ease throughout your visit. With all workshop materials and tools provided, this setup allows you to fully enjoy your creative experience without worrying about additional costs, so you can focus entirely on making art and having fun.
Liberation Art Gallery CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to making creativity accessible for everyone. Nestled in the heart of Brighton, our gallery and creative workshop and art therapy space reinvests all profits directly back into our community programmes, ensuring quality exhibition space for artists and individuals, families, and young people, especially those facing barriers to education, mental health support, or inclusion can access high-quality creative and therapeutic experiences. By joining our workshops and events, you’re not only nurturing your own creativity, but actively helping us deliver free and low-cost art therapy, outreach projects, and wellbeing initiatives to those who need it most.

We understand.that plans can change, and we do our best to be fair whilst protecting the sustainability of our workshops.
Cancellations or date changes must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled.workshops
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the workshop or non attendance on the day are non-refundable
As a good-will gesture, we are happy to to offer a transfer to a future workshop of equal value subject to availability when at least 48 hours notice is given
Workshop credits must be used within 3 months of the original workshop date and cannot be exchanged for cash
We are unable to offer refunds or workshop transfers for same-day cancellations. As materials, artist fees and staffing are already commited.
