Join us for a unique, immersive learning experience as we explore the community resources children encounter while navigating the child welfare and foster care system. Participants will travel by bus throughout Marion County, walking in the “footsteps” of a child who has experienced abuse and/or neglect.This guided journey offers a firsthand look at what it is like to move through the system, with opportunities to visit and learn from local businesses and nonprofit organizations that support children and families along the way.
Lunch is provided, and the event is free of charge. This experience is open to adults ages 18 and older and to any community member interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the child welfare process. Seating is limited.
This is a meaningful opportunity to better understand what children and families face, connect with those who are making a difference, and gain insight into what happens when a child is removed from their home.
We will begin the day by meeting together at 8:00am at the Department of Human Services
