Aim:
This course is aimed specifically at staff employed in Nottinghamshire schools who have Designated safeguarding responsibilities if this is not the case please do not book on to this course as your place will be removed
This course will cover the broad aspect of safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children with the main focus being on the role and responsibilities of the designated person and an update on all changes to guidance and legislation around safeguarding.
Intended for:
This course is for those new to the role of the Designated Person who will become a nominated person responsible for child protection and safeguarding children and young people in a school or educational establishment.
Objectives:
By the end of the training session participants should have a raised awareness and understanding of:
The role of the Designated Safeguarding Person and key areas of responsibility
The recent changes in legislation and guidance affecting your work with children and young people
The implications of these changes for your organisation
Current issues in safeguarding
Effective contribution to inter-agency working
Appraisal of your own safeguarding policies and procedures
