It's time to come together once again and CELEBRATE Chicken Day #14 and that most flaming of Czech traditions: Čarodějnice!Washington Park is our substitute for the apple blossoms of Petrin Hill, as we gather on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 starting at 2pm. We will be at Picnic Space 3A, which is the 2nd to last on your right if you enter Wash Park on Mississippi St. from South Franklin St., on the Southeast side.
There are 5 grills. If any one wants to dazzle us with their on site grilling technique DM Ann and she will assign you a grill spot. Remember time limits do apply for all entries.

*Voting will begin at 3:30 pm.
Bring your FINEST chicken or vegetarian dish in order to compete for the coveted CDDČ trophies. Dishes should be prepared, ready to eat, picnic style. Unless your grilling on site.
ALL dishes must be signed in and ready to serve by 3pm.
Each dish will be numbered, and as we feast, everyone partaking of the Fowl Bounty, will vote for their favorites. The Vegetarian category will operate in the same way.
If you would like to celebrate Čarodějnice, ceremoniously saying goodbye to winter - sending out the bad and bringing in the good, please bring your own constructed WITCH effigy, which is flammable, non toxic and preferable below 20 inches All the effigy owners will then BURN them in the traditional Denver Čarodějnice fireplace by the picnic table, as the final act of Chicken Day XIV.
Please bring all necessary picnic/serving supplies and BE PREPARED for the volatile Colorado springtime! The heat from the witches and the slivo isn't always enough.
Bring as little waste as possible, and all things recyclable - CDDČ is GREEN.
BYOB **NO GLASS** including beer in Wash Park, cans and cups are fine.
There are plenty of picnic tables but you are welcome to bring additional chairs or blankets for lounging. Friends, family, young, old, babies, Czech or Not Czech, all are welcome for fun, games, food, and a little old-fashioned effigy burning to welcome in the Colorado springtime.
Come for the Pinata, stay for the Becherovka!
