This universal tale of fame, fortune, and all that jazz delivers show-stopping songs and some of the most dazzling dancing ever staged. With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb, Chicago is Broadway’s longest-running American musical — and it’s still going strong. Winner of six Tony Awards®, two Olivier Awards, a Grammy®, and countless standing ovations, it continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
This tour is directed by David Hyslop with choreography by Gregory Butler, based on the original work of Tony Award winners Walter Bobbie and Ann Reinking. The creative team also includes Tony Award winners John Lee Beatty (set design), William Ivey Long (costumes), and Ken Billington (lighting).
Set in the razzle-dazzle world of the 1920s, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who kills her lover and schemes her way to fame with the help of a slick lawyer, sparking sensational headlines that feel ripped from today’s tabloids.
From Mexico City to Moscow, São Paulo to South Africa, Chicago has wowed audiences everywhere. Whether it’s your first Broadway experience, you’ve seen the Oscar®-winning film, or you’re ready to relive the magic, this is one show you can’t miss.
