The feature-length documentary is premiering at the Irish-American Heritage Center on Sunday, April 2 @ 5PM. Tickets are $40 + fees.
The Director, Boris Malagurski, will be present at the premiere and will be answering your questions in person following the film screening!
The documentary, filmed with the blessing of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, features an exclusive interview with twice Palme D’Or-winning filmmaker Emir Kusturica.
The film presents the exciting story of Serbs West of the Drina River (the one from Nobel Laureate Ivo Andrić’s award-winning novel), from the times of Medieval Bosnia to the formation of Republika Srpska in the 1990s.
In the past few months, the film won the Best Historical Documentary Award at the Silk Road Film Awards in Cannes, France. It also won Best Documentary the 7th Art Independent International Film Festival in India as well as Best Documentary, Best Documentary Directing and Best Documentary Cinematography at the South Film & Arts Academy Festival in Chile.
It was also selected for the Near Nazareth Film Festival in Israel and the Cannes World Film Festival and RED Movie Awards in France. The film was also screened at Cineplexx and CineStar cinemas in the Balkans, as well as at select venues in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Sweden.
