About this Event
Established in 1966 by Michael and Frances Higgins, the studio produced (and still produces today) a dizzying array of "Higginsware", everything from tablewares to lamps and ashtrays, to candleholders and Rondelays. The Higgins' redefined and refined the ancient art of glass fusion to produce some of the most iconic household designs (and color palettes) of the mid-century.
The tour will last one hour, and will be followed by an architectural driving tour of the Riverside neighborhood. Homes on the list are inspired and drawn from the 2023 exhibition "Outside the Box: Modern and Contemporary Houses in Riverside" curated by local architectural historian, Michelangelo Sabatino, for the Riverside Arts Center. You may find a catalog of the exhibition here.
