Get ready for a night of soulful blues at Spangalang Brewery! On Friday, November 22, 2024, from 7 pm to 10 pm, Spangalang Brewery will host the Delta Sonics for a high-energy live performance. Located in the heart of Denver's historic Five Points neighborhood, also known as the Harlem of the West, Spangalang Brewery is a Black-owned, jazz-themed brewpub and live music venue, offering a full lineup of craft beer made in-house along with a full bar featuring cocktails.
The Delta Sonics, Denver's premier blues band and Westword's Best Blues Band six of the last nine years, bring their Chicago Blues base to life with a flavorful blend of Swing, Delta, NOLA R&B, and early Rock 'n' Roll. They’ve been featured at top festivals like the Five Points Jazz Festival, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and the Cherry Creek Arts Fest, and were semi-finalists in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
Frontman Al Chesis delivers powerful vocals and show-stopping harmonica performances that earned him a Colorado Blues Society Lifetime Achievement Award. He’s joined by the dazzling slide guitar of Bob Pellegrino, a three-time winner of the Colorado Blues Society's best slide guitar award. Rising bass star Alissa Chesis and Stefan Flores on drums round out the grooving rhythm section.
The Delta Sonics have been the go-to band for touring national blues acts for over 15 years, backing legends like Big Bill Morganfield, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Grammy-nominated Lurrie Bell, and the late Pinetop Perkins.
