CHExRISH – Knowledge · Rules · Narratives · Digitality · AudiencesThe CHExRISH initiative seeks to reconceptualize heritage-data projects by integrating multiple dimensions of knowledge production: epistemological, legal-institutional, cultural-digital, and cognitive-communicational.
This one-day interdisciplinary symposium gathers experts from philosophy, heritage law, cultural economics, digital heritage curation, artificial intelligence and cognitive communication, with the aim of establishing a shared interpretative and methodological matrix for the next phase of the CHExRISH project.
Through short keynote introductions, moderated discussions, and joint brainstorming sessions, the event will explore:
- how rules (philosophical, legal, institutional, technical) frame what is considered valid knowledge;
- how narratives and interpretative frameworks shape cultural heritage representations;
- how digital workflows and metadata modeling influence accessibility, reuse and reinterpretation;
- how audiences and cognitive processes shape understanding, trust and engagement with heritage data.
The final collective brainstorming session will test these perspectives on actual CHExRISH materials, producing concrete recommendations for:
- metadata design,
- narrative strategies,
- institutional cooperation,
- responsible, audience-aware dissemination.
The outcomes of the symposium are intended to inform the next phase of CHExRISH development and to establish a foundation for future interdisciplinary heritage-data collaborations.
