About this Event
Waterloo Chess Academy presents Chess Bootcamp, offering a hands-on experience this winter to teach students the fundamentals of chess through engaging lessons with a professional chess coach!
In this program, students (ages 6 to 16) will:
- Master how to move pieces
- Learn the value of each piece
- Discover the golden moves of chess
- Understand essential tactical motifs
- Dive into basic openings
- Write chess moves and read chess books
- Use a chess clock
- Participate in your first tournament
By the end of this Chess 101 experience, you'll be ready to play with confidence. Upon successfully finishing the tournament, every participant will receive a medal to celebrate their achievement!
