Chennai Sangamam 2026 stands as a grand cultural festival that proudly celebrates the ancient arts, traditions, and heritage of Tamil culture. More than an event, it is a living identity of Chennai and the cultural soul of the Tamil people. A vibrant celebration of art, food, traditional games, and togetherness, it offers a festive space for friends and families to come together and immerse themselves in the true spirit of the Pongal Festival, for all generations. First conceived and launched in 2007 as a cultural initiative by Hon’ble MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Chennai Sangamam has grown into one of the city’s most cherished traditions. This year, the festival will unfold across 20 locations in Chennai from January 14 to 18, transforming the city into a vibrant cultural canvas. With over 2,000 artists from across Tamil Nadu, the Food Festival will feature 100+ stalls offering the rich flavours of Kongu, Chettinad, Arcot, Nanjil, and Delta cuisines, alongside traditional village foods and festive Pongal specialities. Complementing this are 100+ art and craft stalls showcasing indigenous art forms and craftsmanship, making Chennai Sangamam not just a festival, but a celebration of Chennai and a proud celebration of Tamil identity.
