Our second Pop Quiz at this iconic venue gives you, your friends and colleagues a chance to pit your musical knowledge against our pop master Leigh who was renowned for running a series of mega pop quizzes in the 80’s and 90’s.
There will be a single session for this Pop Quiz:
Friday 24th July : 18:30 open doors, ends approx. 22:30 (Quiz starts 19:00 prompt)
What to Expect
The Friends of Cheltenham Samaritans present their second pop quiz at the stunningly restored St. Philip and St. James Church in Leckhampton.
Up to 20 teams will be competing for great prizes and of course the honour of being crowned Cheltenham’s pop titans! One ticket required per Team for a £30 fee (plus EventBrite booking fees) - individuals do not require tickets. Teams can be up to 6 people. All monies raised go towards helping the Cheltenham branch of the Samaritans provide their vital service to the local population. Team numbers are limited, so get your booking in early.
A bar featuring craft beers, wines, ciders and soft drinks will be available together with a small range of bar snacks. Table service will be provided during the quiz.
Through the late 80’s, all of the 90’s and even into the early 2000’s the Friends of Cheltenham Samaritans ran a series of large-scale pop quizzes (mainly at the massive Bird’s Eye Walls social club in Barnwood) which attracted teams from far and wide. This will be the third Pop Quiz we have run in the last few years (the second to be held at Pip & Jims) and will feature music from the 50’s to the present day.
No mobile phones or other digital devices are to be used during the quiz.
Over 18’s only, proof of age may be required upon entry. No dogs (apart from assistance dogs) & and no children, please.
