Chef Camille’s French Culinary Summer Camp: Week Three

For Ages 11+ | Limited to 15 Students – Enroll Now!

Dates: Monday, August 17th – Friday, August 21st

Time: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Join Chef Camille for an unforgettable week of French cooking, where teens ages 12 and up will master both sweet and savory recipes, learn real kitchen skills, and discover French language and culture all in a fun, hands-on environment!

Camp Schedule with French Language Immersion

Monday – French Pâtisserie Beginnings

  • Create pâte sablée tart crust + lemon curd
  • Learn kitchen tools & greetings in French (“Bonjour, je m’appelle…”)
  • Personalize your chef apron and start your recipe binder

Tuesday – Savory Bistro Day

  • Make mini quiche Lorraine or Croque Monsieur with herbed butter
  • Practice French cooking verbs (“Je coupe, je mélange…”)
  • Add illustrated vocabulary to your binder

Wednesday – Macaron Workshop

  • Master delicate macarons with ganache & jam fillings
  • Explore French flavors and expressions (“C’est délicieux!”)
  • Practice piping, decorating, and troubleshooting techniques

Thursday – Tartlets & Plating Like a Pro

  • Bake tomato-goat cheese and berry tartlets
  • Discover plating vocabulary (“rond, carré, décoré”)
  • Create and design your own French mini menu card

Friday – Graduation & Family Showcase

  • Final presentation: Introduce yourself and your dish in simple Frenche.g., “Bonjour, je m’appelle Ava. J’ai préparé une tarte aux fruits.”
  • Family tasting at 11:30 AM
  • Receive your signed Diplôme de Petit Chef and pose for photos!




Please note our requirements for kitchen attire:

Dress code is appropriate to kitchen setting. Rubber soled, non-slip, closed-toe shoes, are ¨REQUIRED. (ie: sneakers are fine.)

The kitchen is warm on summer days. Short sleeved shirts are appropriate for both boys and girls. The choice of long pants or shorts are allowed.

Clothing not allowed: bare midriffs, overly loose clothing (a hazard near open flame) flip flops, open sandals, excessive jewelry. Long hair MUST be tied up and secured. All of these attire requirements are for kitchen SAFETY.



Drop off and Pick-Up:

Children may arrive starting at 8:15am, but not earlier.

Pick up is promptly at 12:00pm. Any child not picked up by 12:10pm will be charged a fee of $10 per every 10 minutes past 12:10pm.



Important:

A policy waiver will be emailed to you upon registration. Parent must complete and return it 7 days prior to the start of camp. Let us know about any allergies or special considerations so we can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for your child.

Monday – French Pâtisserie Beginnings

Info: Kick off the week by learning the secrets of classic French pastry! Students will:

Make pâte sablée (buttery tart dough) from scratch.

Whisk together bright, tangy lemon curd to fill their tarts.

Get comfortable with key baking tools and learn how to measure, mix, and knead like a pro.

Practice greetings and self-introductions in French (“Bonjour, je m’appelle…”).

Personalize their chef aprons and start building a recipe & vocabulary binder to take home.

Tuesday – Savory Bistro Day

Info: Students dive into savory French classics, gaining skills that impress at any family brunch! They will:

Make mini quiche Lorraine with smoky bacon and cheese or Croque Monsieur with creamy béchamel.

Master knife skills while prepping fresh herbs for compound butter.

Learn ingredient names and kitchen verbs in French (“Je coupe” – I cut, “Je mélange” – I mix).

Expand their binder with illustrated vocabulary sheets to reinforce new words.

Wednesday – Macaron Workshop

Info: A highlight of the week! Students will:

Master the delicate art of French macarons with smooth, shiny shells.

Prepare rich chocolate ganache and fruity jam fillings.

Explore French words for flavors and colors (“rose,” “chocolat,” “citron”), and express their opinions with phrases like “C’est délicieux!”.

Practice piping, decorating, and troubleshooting common macaron mistakes.

Build confidence with one of the world’s most challenging pastries.

Thursday – Tartlets & Plating Like a Pro

Students will level up their presentation skills with savory and sweet tartlets. They’ll:

Bake tomato-goat cheese tartlets with flaky crusts and fresh herbs.

Make bright, colorful berry tartlets bursting with seasonal fruit.

Discover plating vocabulary in French (e.g., “rond” – round, “carré” – square, “décoré” – decorated).

Learn how to plate beautifully like a restaurant chef, creating stunning final presentations.

Design a mini menu card in French to showcase their creations.

Friday – Graduation & Family Showcase

The big day! Students celebrate their accomplishments by:

Preparing a final dish and introducing themselves and their work in simple French.

Hosting a family tasting at 11:30 AM so parents can sample the week’s creations.

Receiving their official Diplôme de Petit Chef, signed by Chef Camille.

Taking photos in their chef aprons to capture this memorable experience.
