About this Event
'Cheap Rent' is a long suppressed film following h. brown's Quixote like quest to deny Gavin Newsom the American presidency.
Gavin Newsom's first campaign is studied in Long Format from view of a minor opponent. This film is over 20 years old and has been seen by only insiders.
The film covers Matt Gonzalez who later ran for VP with Ralph Nader and returned to his gig as Chief Attorney in the Public Defender's Office where he and Manu Raju handle over 20,000 cases annually. Rich Hillis went back to the Board of Appeals and Planning and worked for our past 6 mayors and was last our City's Director of Planning. Other Newsom challengers in the film include publishing heir Lynne Newhouse-Segal and footballer Len Pettibone.
It will be followed by an interactive panel and audience discussion featuring -
