The Chatterton-McCright Duo (Linda Chatterton, flute, and Matthew McCright, piano) will be performing a concert at UAF at 7:30 on Saturday, March 22. The program includes works by JS Bach, George Enescu, Aaron Travers, Mike McFerron and Chatterton’s transcription of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Violin Sonata No. 1. The Chatterton-McCright Duo has been performing togethersince 2009. Their successful partnership has taken them across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia presenting programs of concert music that blend both traditional and contemporary works. Their concerts include such prestigious venues as London’s St. Martins-in-the-Field Artist Series, the National Concert Hall of Ireland, the DiMenna Center in New York and the Chicago Cultural Center. Their debut album, French Connections - Music of Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev, Uebayashi has been heard throughout the US on National Public Radio. An upcoming album of music written for them will be released in 2026 and includes two of the works on today’s concert program, Aaron Travers’ Beanblossom and Mike McFerron’s Inside the Hatch. This concert program reproduces their March 2024 concert at the American Cathedral in Paris.
Linda Chatterton will also be presenting a flute master class at UAF on Thursday, March 20th at 6:00 pm.
