About this Event
An incident in her current life pulls a former hostage negotiator back into her past life.
When a lifeguard’s body is found at the local pool where Tierney lap swims daily, the former Dublin hostage negotiator—now a stay-at-home mom in Silicon Valley—is drawn back into a life she thought she’d left behind.
As she navigates the isolating cliques at her kindergartener’s elite private school and the shadow of the 2007 tech-industry backdating scandal, the M**der investigation connects to an event in her past.
Struggling with survivor’s guilt and the pressures of motherhood, Tierney must confront not only the mystery at hand but the false assumptions we make about others—and ourselves.
The event is free. You don't need to register to attend. If you would like to order a copy of the book for purchase at the event, please click on the "Get tickets" button (we know; it doesn't make sense to us either but Eventbrite has confounded our attempts to change the button text).
Elizabeth Kemp was born and raised in California, and lives in Silicon Valley with her high school sweetheart husband. She studied public relations at the University of Southern California, earned an MBA from Santa Clara University, and led a successful career in high-tech marketing communications before becoming a stay-at-home mom. That decision helped rekindle her love of reading for fun, and enabled her to pursue writing full-time. When away from her laptop, Elizabeth enjoys lap swimming, hiking, pickleball, and golf. Tread Lightly is her first novel.
