About this Event

Please note: To join this workshop you or your business needs to reside within one of the following GM local authorities: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Manchester, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside or Trafford, Wigan.

You also need to be: The owner of a business OR an aspiring entrepreneur with a business idea you want to develop.

To ensure we have the correct information, please fill out the Generator Registration Form, or bring one of the following forms of identification with you to the workshop:

  • Your National Insurance (NI) number – if you have not yet registered a business
  • Your Companies House registration number or Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) – if you have registered a company with Companies House or are self-employed/sole trader registered with HMRC

Kindly note that we may not be able to admit you to the workshop without this information, so we strongly encourage you to have it ready on the day.

Chat GPT as your Business Assistant (Beginner Focus)

1. Save Time on Everyday Tasks
Attendees will learn how ChatGPT can support day-to-day tasks like drafting emails, creating social media captions, organising information, and summarising content.
The focus is on using it as a support tool to speed things up, not replace decision-making.

2. Create More Consistent, On-Brand Content
You will learn how to guide ChatGPT with the right prompts, tone, and examples so outputs feel aligned with their business.
This includes simple ways to keep messaging consistent across posts, emails, and customer responses.

3. Build and Test a Simple AI Assistant
During the session, each attendee will create and try a basic role-specific assistant (e.g. marketing or admin) they can start using straight away.
You will practise giving context, refining outputs, and improving responses through iteration.

4. Apply It Across Key Areas of the Business
Attendees will explore practical ways ChatGPT can support different areas, including:

  • Customer communication (enquiry replies, FAQs, follow-ups)
  • Marketing (captions, content ideas, basic planning)
  • Admin (checklists, summaries, document drafts)

5. Use ChatGPT Safely and Realistically
Limitaitions of Chat GPT and when to avoid using.
