Dr Lucy Dean will tell us about Perth Charterhouse — known as the House of the Valley of Virtue — a monastic house of Carthusian monks and the only Carthusian house ever established in the Kingdom of Scotland.

Prof Richard Oram will tell us about the pre-Reformation alatars at St John's Kirk — devoted to an array of saints, lavishly decorated and lit by their lay patrons — both individuals and guilds.
